The Supermarine Spitfire is without any doubt the most famous fighter plane of the Second World War and perhaps ever made. It is famed for its beautiful elegant design, flying characteristics and of course huge succes record. Together with the Hawker Hurricane it defended Britain against the massive German aerial attack known as The Battle of Britain. The Spitfire also flew in Northern Africa, The Middle East and India. This model kit by Guillow's let's you built a balsa model of this great plane. The kit provides everything to make it into a display model or even an elastic engine (postal elastic!) flying plane. If you want to cover the frame you have built, you will only need to purchase a varnish to cover the provided tissue cloth with. This kit is of course a nostalgic piece but it will surely offer you a few hours away from the everyday (or holiday!) stress.
